Back to the sunshine after two days of wacky weather. Yesterday turned out to be a layer day
clothing-wise and one where eventually folks broke down and turned on some
heat.
We fought off the impulse to turn up those thermostats, but
by early afternoon, when someone commented that it felt like snow was coming, I
broke down.
Heck, for a short stretch yesterday, I even thought curling
up in a blanket would be nice.
No thermostat needs in the future, though. We’ll be back to the 90s by Sunday.
I noticed this morning that my vine plants all have
blossoms, and even a baby pumpkin suddenly appeared on its spreading mother plant, which now covers almost the entire the manure pile.
Should be great weather for all those little squash, pumpkin
and cuke starts. Plus, the corn has
tassles and even a few ears perking up and promising some great summer meals
soon.
Kevin and Joyce have been here for a couple of days with
their granddaughters from Wyoming. So,
we got together last night at Colburn for a barbecue and some visiting.
It had been a while since the “kiddie” table had been set up
for extended family meals. Aggie and
Betsy didn’t seem too concerned with their status at the separate table,
especially because the photo of their great Aunt Laurie hung just above their
heads.
It was an evening of good food aplenty and great fun with the girls.
They’re headed to their other grandmother’s home today. Annie is headed over this way from Seattle to
spend the weekend.
She’ll get to see Kevin and Joyce, and we’re planning to
attend the Julyamish powwow sometime this weekend.
Lots going on, as it has all summer.
Happy Friday.
