I loved yesterday because of its beauty and more so because Annie and I got to enjoy a nice horseback ride on Lefty and Lily.
We took the trails around the place and then headed down the road, visiting with neighbors along the way.
I offered Lily's services for sorting cows as we rode past the Filipowski's place where Colleen and Jennifer were sending some of their Herefords from one pen to the next.
Seems they had it all under control.
As usual, Annie more than made up for her time here over the weekend, taking Foster for a geocaching drive toward Clark Fork and going on a bike ride before we saddled up the horses.
When she and her dad took off for the airport, I loaded up the three dogs in the white pickup and headed up Rapid Lightning Creek Road, absolutely certain that the beautiful aspen grove would be in the full height of fall color.
Not just yet. Leaves are turning, but it's gonna take a few more cold nights up there for the show to reach its peak.
Gosh, I may have to go back one more time.
It was pretty enough, though, and I stopped several times to snap some photos.
On my way down, I enjoyed another treat for the day. Nadine and Dan Campbell were up enjoying the sights.
I've known them for years (Nadine as a student), so, during our visit, it seemed fitting to ask them to pose for a picture or two in all that beauty.
So, they did. Turned out nice.
Bill says he may go up the Moyie this afternoon. I told him I may take the dogs again and head up Bonners Ferry way for more picture-taking.
Seems like a waste not to do so when we've been granted so much lovely weather. When it ends, I'm sure the camera will get a good rest.
For now, it's take photos while the sun shines.
So, stay tuned. Happy Monday.
