Call it "the morning after." I’m thinking "cold turkey." But
then again, I shouldn’t be thinking about bird meat on a platter.
Comes that moment when it’s all over cuz it’s over. And, that arrived around 4 p.m. yesterday
afternoon when the buzzer sounded for another intense, fun-filled season of ZAGS fanaticism.
The ZAGS went down yesterday at the hands of another fine basketball
school, Duke. When the outcome was
clear, we all gathered our thoughts about this inevitable moment.
As Bill sez, every team but one that enters
the NCAA March Madness ends their season with a loss.
And, when our team goes down each spring, we switch gears.
Laurie usually takes the lead with an announcement: Okay, now I can get on to my spring
activities.
We all agree.
Yesterday, she added, “It’s time to get away from eating so
much,” thanks to ZAGS get togethers.
Yes, I do believe some pairs of jeans among our family members may
have gotten a little tighter over the past few months, but that’s a small price
to pay for all the family fun and weekly enjoyment we’ve had.
Now, we move on.
Basketball can end “cold turkey” as far as we’re concerned cuz we’re
about ZAGS.
When everyone left the house to go home for their chores, I
went out and did mine. Then, the dogs
and I went for a walk at the Meserve Preserve.
Later, we joined forces again TO EAT. Hmmm. Thought we were gonna quit doing that?
Well, this dining experience had been planned. We’d go to Jalapenos to celebrate my brother
Kevin’s birthday. So, we did. He refused to even think of wearing the
sombrero and having “Happy Birthday” sung to him by the staff.
So, we settled for sharing the free dessert for birthday
boys.
This morning, the day after, it’s mighty pretty
outside.
I even took a spin through the Shingle Mill area of Selle as part of my strategy to change gears. It was nice because few cars were on the road, and horses were quite alert to my presence.

After all, who comes and takes their picture at 6:30
a.m.??? Just that crazy lady down the road!
It’s a beautiful day in this Selle farm neighborhood, and in hopes
of bringing you a chuckle chaser with your caffeine, I’ll wrap up with some dialogue I
saw on Facebook’s Farm and Garden group the other day.
Gotta love living in farm country cuz with all the stuff
going on, it’s pretty easy to forget about the insanity of college basketball.
Happy Monday and here ya go . . . .
From Facebook Farm and Garden:
Iso - goose! Desperate, very, very,
very lonely male goose, Dobbie, aged 15 needs a friend. We don't care how old
he or she is as long as not mean. Our guy is a big lover, not a fighter. We'll
barter like crazy or throw money at you! We're desperate because the crazy
goose is desperate. He honks and his gal of 7 years doesn't honk back. Lost her
this Christmas. We have two kiddy ponds set up. A warm greenhouse and all the
food he or she could possibly eat. Get to free range and visit when neighbors
come over. They'll get picked up, scrunched under wings and extra treats
occasionally. If you're willing to sell one of your goose babies or have an
older one, please consider us. smile emoticon

doesn't work out, I'll get back in touch if he's friendly.

When the Zags are done, we are done with basketball. Kate did the honors last night - officially ripped up the printed bracket!
