Reflections . . . .

An action-packed morning ahead.  Gotta take horses to pasture.  Gotta watch the Pope in Washington.  Gotta take Kiwi and Foster to the groomers before a meeting in town.

So, I'll make this brief today.

Yesterday, I took Kiwi and Kea for a drive up Rapid Lightning Creek where Brian Wood had told me the road has been paved to the Gold Creek Cutoff.

Brian ought to know cuz he's a road man, and he's been busy with improving roads around the area.

Yes, now I can say the road is very nice, and though the water is low, Rapid Lightning Creek and its surroundings are  beautiful as we march into fall.

On our trip, we stopped briefly at Western Pleasure where the guest ranch has acquired some new horses, including two driving teams and a rather colorful, Lily-like Appaloosa gelding.

Enjoyed a nice visit with Libby Schoonover who explained each of the horses.  That Percheron pair have amazingly similar markings.

It's always fun to visit Western Pleasure.  We went on our way and headed home for more Pope watching.

As I type, the Pope is at the White House, and I'm sure our Cindy is a busy lady.  She was enjoying herself yesterday when the Papal jet landed in the United States.

We appreciate so much her sharing this amazing experience with the rest of us back home in Sandpoint.  Cindy's sister Cheryl Piehl said someone had asked her if Cindy was going to bring the Pope to Sandpoint.

Cheryl added to that wondering by noting that maybe if he came home with Cindy, he could ride in the official North Idaho car, a Suburu.

Maybe that experience will go on Pope Francis' bucket list.

For now, it's fun to watch his travels.

Happy Wednesday.
