Twas a day of hiking on a beautiful ranch once owned by Will Rogers, viewing antiquities at the world-class Getty Villa museum, enjoying ocean views along the Pacific Coast highway and the beach and sampling sushi in Santa Monica.
All went well, and we even enjoyed some extra treats with our meal. I can now say that I have tried sushi, and it was pretty good stuff, although very rich.
Our server Abraham Lim, pictured below, is also an up-and-coming actor who pays the bills with his dynamic personality and knowledge of sushi while waiting tables at Hamusaku Restaurant.
We also saw an actress who's paid her dues and earned her stripes. As soon as she and her family walked in and sat down, Annie quietly announced that Gwyneth Paltrow and her ex-husband Chris Martin (lead singer for Coldplay) were in the building.
Just regular folks, they were, sitting at a table enjoying their Sunday dinner just a few tables away from us.
I loved the day, which compared to Saturday's marathon was much more relaxing but no less interesting.
Today we'll do a little moseying around, try to catch some more sun and then head to the airport for the trip home to winter.
Enjoy the photos. Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Glad you got to the Getty.... and he SHOULD be an actor. Whoa! Hope you got his autograph. Beautiful pictures. Thanks for taking those of us in the northlands along to beautiful southern California!
