Gatherings

Posting from Central Washington this morning where later today we'll be gathering with a bunch of first cousins from the Brown side of the family for the annual get together.

The photo above was taken three years ago when many of us met in the Tri-Cities. Since then, cousins have gotten together in Seattle and Sandpoint.

This year the branch from Ephrata will be hosting an afternoon-evening event and a Sunday morning brunch.

Bill, Kevin and I have already enjoyed a special evening here with our mutual friend Shiraz, whose sister-in-law Maryann lives in Sandpoint and joins us for our Friday-night family dinners.

Thanks to Maryann, we've all met and thoroughly enjoyed the company of Shiraz and his wife Sigrid over the past few years and have all truly enjoyed their friendship.

Sigrid went to Sandpoint to help out at this weekend's Last Horse Show of the Season where our sisters and Maryann will be showing.

Meanwhile, Shiraz remained home so he could take Kevin and Bill fishing today.

Then came the dinner invitation.  We enjoyed a lovely evening of visiting, complete with home cooking AND a fabulous fresh baked apple crisp.

This morning the guys will go try out a legendary fishing hole just south of Ephrata.  We're told the creek is loaded with big rainbow trout-----and that we might see a rattlesnake or two.

Shiraz assured me that the place does provide great photo ops of fish caught on flies and released.  So, I'll take my camera and keep a close watch out for snakes!

Then, we'll head to Cousin George's and let the visiting begin.  I have a feeling we may hear a word or two about the Cougs' win last night as a few members of the group are WSU grads.

I'm sure a good time will be had by all.

Thanks so much to Debbie and Willie for watching the beloveds at the Loverstead this weekend.

And, thanks so much Shiraz for your wonderful hospitality.

Happy Saturday to all.
