Celebration Weekend

Family friend Roxzene Bockstruck cuts the first piece of cake as part of the two-hour celebration at my sisters' Tibbs Arabians arena yesterday afternoon.

On this Sunday morning, the weekend is only halfway completed, but I can tell you that we've stuffed enough into the time frame from Friday morning until now to make up for at least a couple of weekends.

It's a quiet Sunday morning after the preparation for an event, a trip to Spokane to pick up Annie, a festive ZAGS season opener Second Avenue eating fest at the Lovestead, more preparation, the actual Tibbs Arabians extravaganza and the season opening Sandpoint Lady Bulldogs basketball game.

On this quiet morning, I'm thinking that lots of minds who participated in any or all the events must be feeling a bit of sensory overload as we all take time to think about the activities and the people who played a role in each of them.

And, on this quiet Sunday morning, I must say that we are blessed!

We family members are blessed because we get to do these things and have these celebrations and share the good times with oodles of longtime friends and even some relativing new but cherished acquaintances.

The weekend has been a confluence of sorts:  situations we love and loving all those people who do play significant roles in our respective lives.

And, of course, I would be remiss in leaving out the horses who fill such meaningful and diverse roles in our lives.

It's been lovely, to say the least, and my family members would probably agree with me that the weekend moments and all those leading up to this time of celebration, from Day One,  continue to be driven by two phenomenal forces who made an appearance at yesterday's reception.

Mother and Harold had to be beaming all weekend long as they watched all the fun times and touching moments.

Yes, we are blessed.  Thank you, Mother and Harold, for your guidance, your high standards and your examples, which influenced a multitude of shining moments this weekend.

Also, thanks to all who continue to bring blessings to our lives in truly unique and meaningful ways.

We love you and appreciate you.

Happy Sunday.
