Saturday Slight

Another filling ZAGS gathering; another fulfilling and phenomenal ZAGS victory.

We worry sometimes about the pounds we put on in the winter time, thanks to the ZAGS, cuz we sure don't starve.

Last night Bill cooked up some pulled pork, and those sandwiches were superb.  I'm hearing that the next time we all get together at my sisters, the cuisine theme will be Mexican.

The food was great, but the game was even better.

After playing catch-up during the first half against a very talented team of Creighton Blue Jays, the ZAGS took over in the second half, entertaining their fans with vintage and highly effective ZAGS play.

From Down Under with Annie Love . . .

Annie's beginning the long trip home----leaving Sunday morning in New Zealand and arriving Sunday morning in Seattle.

She took a few photos on her last full day in New Zealand.  Some looked pretty familiar to me.

I remember our visit the botanic gardens where she took yesterday's selfie below.  It was so fun in November to see all the brilliant color and beauty.

Boat yes, but more of a reminder of one of our Border Collie beloveds who left us all too soon:  Miss Kea.

We never forget.

In the "I can see clearly" department, I can report this morning that after a visit to Costco yesterday, I'll be seeing a lot more clearly in the next week or so.

I went for an eye exam and to order new glasses----this time "progressive" lenses. The doctor told me she thought I'd be flexible enough to make the adjustment to three lenses in one.

Only problem I can foresee is seeing all too clearly all those places I've missed while cleaning or dusting and remembering not to look in the mirror with my glasses on.

The doctor also told me that it will be a couple of years before I get to join the cataract removal bandwagon.  I guess I'll have to be patient because once I reach that point, I may see much too clearly and never look in the mirror again.

Guess that's all on this quiet Saturday morning except to extend one more shout out to Willie and his Cedar Post reporters.

Their scoop on the hate material distributed around the school parking lot on Thursday is getting picked up by regional media AND the staff is getting credit for their reporting.

Here's a link to a TV news story last night featuring Willie's editor.

Good job, Cedar Post!  We are proud of you.

Happy Saturday.
