LET IT BE Spring, Please!

It looked like an okay day after a full Saturday of continuous, cold, sloppy snow.

On this SUNday, the sun came out.  Layers of clothing came off. Dogs lay in the driveway soaking up the sun.

Twas messy with mud and spongy ground, but we can take messy if we know the weather is aiming toward spring.

After finishing a raking project, I took a late afternoon trip to town and brought my camera along, hoping for a few good pictures on the way home.

After my stop for shopping, I drove toward Whiskey Jack Road, figuring the usually serene, bucolic slough would maybe have a few ducks or geese swimming around, waiting for photo ops.

Heck no!  The slough is simply a tiny stream of water meandering through the mud, which normally is covered with water.

Must be this slough is affected by lake draw down, I reasoned.

By the time I made it to a turnaround place just before the Whiskey Jack Road ends, snow flakes had begun to fall on my wind shield.

No pictures today, I thought, while driving toward the Shingle Mill Road.

As I reached the end of the main road where one direction heads to West Shingle Mill and the other, to East Shingle Mill, I saw a lady walking her dog.

When I pulled past her and stopped, my wind shield wipers were screeching across the pane.  The slop had stopped momentarily, and the wipers were letting me know.

I visited briefly with Kathy and then drove on through great big snowflakes, causing those wind shield wipers to go back into action and quietly so.

By the time I pulled into the driveway, sunshine once again returned, and, happily, I did get my session of photographic heaven.  Dogs came out of the garage.

Even they seemed excited about the abrupt change from doldrum-producing slop to invigorating fresh, dry spring air.

It seemed like just about every direction I walked around the place, a lovely spring-like photo begged my attention.

Of course, I obliged.

Yes, it was Heaven, and, yes, I think it's time for the snow to stop.  I do believe that all the birdies, deer, horses (walking around in slop) and doggies would agree with me.

It's time.  Let it be Spring.  We have waited long enough, and, Mother Nature, we promise to be good if you'll keep that snow hidden away in your storage bins.

Happy Monday.  The sky is blue. Life is good.

Do your dogs have any idea about how good their lives are?
