Remembering-----the Wisdom Never Died

Darkness cannot drive out darkness;
Only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate;
Only love can do that.

~~~
I have decided to stick with love.
Hate is too great a burden to bear.
~~~

Life’s most persistent & urgent question is,
“What are you doing for others?”

~~~~~
If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.
~~~~

The hottest place in Hell
Is reserved for those who remain
Neutral in times of great moral conflict.

~~~~
Every man must decide whether he will walk
In the light of creative altruism or in the dark
Of destructive selfishness.
~~~~~

Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance
And conscientious stupidity.

~~~~~
When evil men plot, good men must plan.
When evil men burn and bomb,
Good men must build and bind.
When evil men shout ugly words of hatred,
Good men must commit themselves to the glories of love.
Where evil men would seek to perpetuate an unjust status quo,
Good men must seek to bring a real order of justice.
from "I Have a Dream"
    . . . . . . . . . . . I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.
With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.
With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
