Hello, October. Hello, Emerald Isle

Bill and I are skipping a few hours of September.

We could do that because we are headed off to a magical and beautiful land where magical things can happen.

By the usual blog posting deadline of 8 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time, we will hopefully still be keeping our rental car in the right---NO---left lane on our way from Dublin to
Kilkenny.

It's just a 70-mile drive, but when training the brain and the hands to turn sharp left, wide right, there could be a steep learning curve for a couple of old codgers.

Most folks say we'll catch on, especially if the navigator, who's sitting shotgun on the left side of the car helps guide the driver to the proper lanes does her job.

We'll be tired after a nine-hour Aer Lingus nonstop overnight flight from Seattle, but we'll do our best to keep our eyes open and peeled on the road---as well as the rental car.

If all goes well, this blog will be appearing every day, 'cept for one when we're off on an island staying in an ecopod next to the Atlantic ocean.

Could be no wi-fi on that overnighter.

For the most part, though, I'm hoping to share our adventures each day with photos and anecdotes of Ma and Pa Love doin' Ireland all on their own.

Our first night will be spent at Lawcus Farmhouse near Kilkenny.  Google it.

Renowned tour guide Rick Stueves recommends it, as does one of our daughter Annie's friends who stayed there.

Stay tuned.

Thanks for your patience if posts are a bit erratic, and, if my Catholic friends can say some "Hail Mary's" fairly regularly, we'll do our best to stay alive.

Erin go Bragh!
