Happenings/ Throwback Thursday Grab Bag

                                                                                       ----from Sandpoint Magazine

                                                                                                          ---from KREM-2 News

Debbie, Emma and I attended the production above last night at The Panida.

The Bode sisters, Boston and Terra (Lefty's person) from down the road each had roles in the adaptation.

It would be an understatement to say that the singing and acting was amazing.  These were seventh and eighth graders, which, as we watched, was hard to believe.

The students and their mentors put on a fabulous show, and it's gonna happen again tonight.

So, if you're local, try to attend.  You will be amazed at the talent.

We went to the play last night because, like countless fans across the world, we have important business today at 4:09 p.m. PST.

Any idea what might be happening?

Fingers crossed that the ZAGS will issue payback to the Florida State Seminoles who knocked them out of the tournament last year.

Plus, we sure do hope they get to appear on Jimmy Kimmel when this is all over AND that the man in Ohio who has a perfect bracket showing Gonzaga taking it all still has a perfect bracket clear to the end.

Nice to be back to the Madness and the bracketeering for a few more days.

Again, today, my Throwbacks do represent a grab bag of good memories and great peeps.

Hope you enjoy.

Happy Thursday.

GO, ZAGS!

Debbie hoping to lure a lunker in Boulder Creek.

Never mind that Boulder Creek "lunkers" are lucky to be six inches long.

Still fun and still a beautiful area for fishing.

On a trip to Hunters, Wash., about three years ago to meet my dear friend Liam (below) for the first time.

Liam came from a beautiful area.

Classmates Gary and Chad and Chad's wife Sully at a class reunion four years ago.

My Uncle Don passed away in 2018.

I found this photo this morning and thought his family would appreciate seeing it.

Don, a career engineer who worked on area dams,  and his daughter Sue came to visit us at a horse show in Monroe, Wash.

I love this bit of nostalgia from our farm on North Boyer.  This was taken in the early 1950s.

That's my mother's horse Largo and her first foal Shadow, and I'm pretty sure that's Batch One on the fence.

Our family friend Moriha, has gone from bees to beauty.

She worked with bee hives in Taylor's field across the road from us.

Nowadays, she styles hair.

Ralph, on the left, came to his first-ever class Sandpoint High class reunion, our 50th.

Needless to say, he did a little catching up with classmates.

Gary Finney's big boys on a neighborhood visit.  That's my brother Kevin looking over their hooves.

I gave it a try in Boulder Creek too, but Debbie caught the lunker.

My friend and classmate Steve came to visit us for an afternoon about four years ago, when our Lodgepole was still standing.

He joined the Lodgepole Society.

Sure miss that tree.

Not exactly a throwback cuz these visits happen all the time.

My friend Becky and I at lunch on Hope's Floating Restaurant.

This is how we like to celebrate Easter at a park opposite Port Hill, Idaho, next to the Canadian border.

We have yet to see illegals swimming across the creek to the USA.

My dear friend and former student Mercury aka Jeff.  Haven't heard what he's up to for a couple of years, but it's usually very interesting.

He shows up for a visit from time to time, which is always fun.

This was a class reunion almost 35 years ago out at Riley Creek Campground:  classmate Lee with ????, Kiersten daughter of classmate Ruthann and classmate Susan.

Pardon me while I indulge in the nostalgia of this poignant classic of Willie and Annie.

That little guy with the big hat will be turning 42 in a few days.

Time flies.
