TBT: You Might Be a Sounders Fan If . . . .

I feel like a kid the night before Christmas, filled with so much anticipation and excitement for Sunday!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!! It's going to be epic! Go #sounders

!!! #EBFG #MLSCup

With today being Throwback Thursday, I would be remiss in not featuring our past family experiences associated with the Seattle Sounders on this day leading up to Sunday's Major League Soccer Cup final, beginning at noon IN SEATTLE.

The Sounders, winners of the West MLS division take on East Division winners Toronto.

It's a story line which began for us several years ago when Annie announced to us that she would be purchasing a season ticket for a new soccer franchise due to open in Seattle.

They would be called the Sounders.

Since that time, our family has joined in on Annie's enthusiasm toward her favorite athletic team on Earth.

We have gone on the March to the Match, led off by the Sounders band, from a watering hole near the stadium called Fuel.

We have learned about the rough and rowdy and extremely passionate "attitude" displayed amidst the crowd at the end zone with their scarves and their flags.

They never sit down during a match.

We learned that when an opposing player gets hurt, the crowd chants, "Let him die.  Let him die!"

Some of us have even stood in spots in other countries of the world and points of interests here in the States where Annie has pulled out her Sounders scarf, held it above her head and stood while someone snapped a photo.

Twas Ireland for me, and I'm pretty sure I took the picture.

And, yes, thanks to Bill's perseverance,  I own a souvenir lunch pail featuring original Sounders Osvaldo Alonso and former goalie turned Sounders color commentator Kasey Keller.

Over the years, Annie has also managed a couple of photo ops with one of the Sounders owners/fans Drew Carey.

You probably know him best for his day job:  The Price is Right.

And, yes, Annie traveled to Los Angeles once, wearing a t-shirt with a photo of her standing with Drew AND, of course, her Sounders scarf.

As convincing as it was, she was not lucky enough to gain contestant status.  Still, I'm sure Drew was delighted.

BTW:  other names associated with the Sounders ownership group include Seahawk quarterback Russell Wilson, Ciara and Emmy-winning rapper Macklemore.

This weekend promises ultimate joy for Annie and the whole gang of Sounders faithful, including Willie and Debbie.

They'll all be in that raucous crowd of nearly 70,000 at CenturyLink Field Sunday, yelling at the top of their lungs with fervant hopes that their hosting Sounders will trounce the Toronto Reds and take the 2019 MLS Cup.

After that, I don't know how you top the ultimate for fans like Annie who've been with the Sounders from the beginning.

GO, Sounders!

Have fun, Annie, Willie, Debbie and the Sounders Faithful.
