Text from Debbie @ 9:57, Dec. 14: We have The Swiss Miss . . . on our way back to Sandpoint.
Bill and I haven't seen her yet, but we probably will today.
Laura, who first came as a high-school exchange student a few years ago, flew all the way from Zurich, Switzerland to spend the next couple of weeks with Willie, Debbie and extended family, which includes peeps, dogs, cats and horses.
Her arrival capped off a busy but fun day.
The day included three Bulldog victories, including Willie's SHS girls basketball team, the Lady ZAGS (Bill attended that one) and a thrilling win for the men's team in Tucson which we all watched at my sisters' house.
I also attended a meeting at the library where the Emerald Empire Arabian Horse club came back to life after several years of inactivity.
With the ultimate goal of the club being, enjoyment of each other and horses through a wide variety of activities, it sounds like a winner.
A new face or two and one face I hadn't seen in about 25 years, along with a few of the club's longtime members made for a fun gathering. The cookies were good too!
As always, each activity creates its own fun, but the best part is spending time with the folks involved and nurturing new and old friendships.
Today we're looking forward to seeing Swiss Miss and getting on with the Christmas prep.
Happy Sunday.
Congratulations, SHS Lady Bulldogs! We are proud of you! |
