02-02-2020: Just Goin' with the February 😍Flow

What a day, and we've only just begun!

For starters, the uniqueness of today's date could mean good things.

Check out this feature story from the Eugene Register-Guard, giving you everything you need to know about 02-02-2020.

So far, today, I saw stars---not because I hit my head but--- because they were actually shining in the early-dawn sky this morning.

Now, I'm seeing clear skies and strong possibility that by the time I finish this post, the sun might even be shining.

I also read---but being from North Idaho will remain skeptical---that the Ground Hog says we're in for an early spring.

I hope that's true for both Pennsylvania and for us.

This morning's walking during chores, on a scale of 1-10, jumped up to about a 6.  Firm, bare ground but still some lurking holes formed from horse hoofs in the barnyard surface.

My oh my, though, the walk from the barn to the paperbox was downright pleasurable.  No obstacles, just fairly smooth stepping all the way.

I'm glad, however, that I found the link about Willie's game yesterday on line cuz on our paper did not have a sports section.

That's okay, though, cuz I already read sports editor Dylan Greene's story about the Bulldogs claiming their league title yesterday after a win at Moscow.

Two more regular-season games remain for this 13-6 team:  West Valley makeup on Wednesday and another tip-off against Moscow this coming Saturday at Bulldog Gym.

Then, comes the league's post season, determining teams bound for State, and those games very well could also be played at Bulldog Gym.

Twas a great day to be a Bulldog yesterday, albeit nail biting in some cases, as all three of our teams won.

In other sports news, it's on again but probably off again for us to watch the Super Bowl in the comfort of our own home today.

One FB friend contacted DISH and posted that if we go to Channel 540 today we can watch it.

Then, another friend, who's professionally in the know about these satellite station disputes, said probably not . . . a good possibility that the Spokane station no longer carrying Fox 28 can block coverage on Channel 540.

Seems ridiculous that the big money once again gets the win while the poor saps paying the bills get nothing in return.

We're dealing with a similar issue with our cell phones, which have been partially useless here at the house for the past few days.  Bill can't call anyone on his, and mine is pretty much the same, but I can call our house landline from the barn.

Not that I spend a lot of time calling home from the barn, but at least I can do that much.

Our texts are working erratically, at best.

We've been told that a cell tower at Schweitzer was damaged, hence the problem.

Wonder if AT & T will offer us a discount on our bill.  My guess:  probably not.

So, we go with the flow and alert people that if they can't get ahold of us, we have no control over the situation, except to go to town or somewhere else and check our texts and missed calls.

Tech advancement.  Yay!

Back to the Super Bowl, which looked to be a great game, I guess we'll know for sure at 10 a.m. our time if we can watch.

If it's not in the cards, Bill and I will go with the flow and will maybe get out and enjoy the beauty of this day.

We've finally gotten a break, and since the weather forecast says there's more winter to come, we'd better take advantage of it.

Happy Sunday.  GO, Chiefs!  GO, 49'ers!

I think this is another new baby at the Filipowski barn.
