At Home, Day One; TBT and TBD

Disclaimer:  A little self-indulgence in today's blend.

First thing I read this morning was on my phone, reminding me of the afternoon flight to Seattle for Bill, Willie, Debbie and me.

Back when this was still the ultimate family dream, we probably would have sat in Sea-Tac Airport watching March Madness and maybe even the ZAGS for a few hours while waiting for our Aer Lingus flight to Dublin.

BTW:  Annie would be joining us a few days later, flying to Dublin and then surprising us at Sharamore House in Clifden.  We would all leave there and head to the northernmost point of Ireland to celebrate Bill's 70th.

A dream deferred but . . . .

Later, I came upstairs for my morning coffee and site surfing, which always includes the birthdays.

One of my first-grade Lincoln School classmates, Lesle Oliver, is on today's list, as is Anne Martin.

Sounds really cosmopolitan for a plain ol' country hick like me, but it's the truth:  I met Anne Martin in Paris, France, in 2015, the last and first time our whole family traveled to Ireland.

Anne was a flight attendant for corporate jets.  She was on her way home to Dublin, and among the many topics we discussed:  birthdays.  She's a week older than Willie.

She turned 43 today.

Lots of reminders of what was to be and of what WILL be when God, the country, the state and our community are thriving again.

For now, yes, that self indulgence of thinking of how it was gonna be.

Lots of "how it was gonna be's" in this world this morning.

How it is right now:  Idaho is closed, 'cept for essentials.

Slowly but surely the state declarations are happening.

Slowly but surely, we, in this country, are going through the myriad of emotions directly connected to COVID-19.

We've had Italy and China to view as models for what has happened, is happening and is yet to come.

And, so, home will be the place where most upcoming photos originate, as I continue this blog.

I walked around last night and snapped a few, thinking that in some cases, I might do my own form of time-lapse photography, taking daily photos of the same subjects.

Might be fun over "how long?" to see the changes as we stay here at the Lovestead, which, happily and fortunately, is our piece of Heaven.

Happily, it should get more and more Heavenly as the days of spring unfold.

Like my dear friend and photographically kindred spirit, the Judge Don Swanstrom, sometimes even if it's not Thursday Throwbacks, I may borrow from my library of thousands of photos depicting happy times or beautiful moments.

We do what we can to spread whatever joy we can, even if the tears roll down our faces for what mighta been and what excruciating world events currently ARE.

A little ZAGS joy this morning:  the guys on Coyotee Country announced yesterday that in a ridiculously early poll about next year's NCAA season, the ZAGS are ranked No. 1.

Smart pollsters!

Ironically, the photo below the governor depicts the Idaho State Forestry Contest, held every May and which Bill helped start nearly 40 years ago.

Cancelled for 2020.

At-home shots, shortly after learning of the governor's declaration.

From Julie Walkington, one of the band of healers at Bonner General Health.

Annie and I met the lady who posted this photo while riding dude horses in Hawaii.

Jenessa rode a more lively horse and guided us through a gorgeous area where Jurassic Park was filmed.

Since then, Jenessa received her teaching degree (betcha can't guess in what state).

If I recall correctly, she had wedding plans for this year, which have been postponed.

She IS able to get out and jog, though, and while doing so, she snapped the photo above.

Her message:  poignant and simple.

BE KIND, as often as possible.

TBT and TBD . . .
