It occurred to me this morning that I've seldom if ever heard of a person given the name "Moravia."
A bit perplexing since it's such a pretty name.
I read later that five states in the United States have places called Moravia.
The Moravia southwest of Bonners Ferry on the Deep Creek Road and a bit west of the golf course matches the name.
This rural and railway 'burb is pretty just about any time of the year.
And, since it was so blah and I was feeling so blah yesterday, I must say that passing through Moravia gave me an emotional lift.
The goodies from the Bread Basket Bakery also helped. Bill's down there right now eating his cinnamon roll, and my spirits were high while driving through Moravia, knowing that I had dinner in a couple of brown bags.
Fresh ham and cheese sandwiches on sourdough and whole wheat with lettuce and mayo. Two gingersnaps for dessert.
So, without cares associated with "what's for dinner," I simply enjoyed my time spent in and around Moravia.
I even walked inside the cemetery which sits up in a treed hillside above the O'Shea Ranch.
Silly me even had to douse the temptation to drive in and meet the O'Shea's. After all Ireland is on my mind, and all things Irish provide a nice lift too.
I drove by, though, and thought that maybe some other day I'd meet the O'Shea's.
In Moravia, there's a school, red brick, of course. I couldn't tell if someone lives there because there's a lot of farm-related stuff in that area.
I also drove by a somewhat hidden tree farm where someone has grown some fascinating species.
And, the view of the majestic snow-capped Cabinets east of Bonners Ferry wasn't bad either.
It was tempting to spend some more time just driving around Moravia and capturing images of the interesting and colorful trees in the area.
BUT a dirty dog or two awaited me at home, so I moved on.
I was happy that I made the visit and even more thrilled that the brown-bag dinner from the Bread Basket, sitting next me in the Subaru, was gonna make a nice treat after daily dog washing.
Today I'll go for my every-other-month hair zap and then come home and wash dogs and then wash my hands, of course!
Beauty is of the essence for both the pups and their mom.
Happy Friday.
P.S. If someone knows someone named Moravia, tell 'em Marianne said they have a beautiful name.
