Monday Miscellany

My sisters gave me this rosebush when we lived over on Great Northern Road.

It survived the move to the Lovestead nearly 14 years ago, and since then, has put on an impressive show each year with its hundreds of buds.

Last night, I saw the first bud for 2020, and, in this strange  year, it actually looks like a great blooming display to come.

Downright "giddy" horses.

And, yes, they "giddy up" once they're in their hay field pasture and I try to catch them.

This week, they'll be eating their breakfast in the hay field and spending most of the day digesting before going to one of the other eaten-down pastures.

Horse Heaven, for sure, in Lily, Lefty and CB's minds.

The queen of the barn, Miss Sunny, helped me lead horses to pasture this morning.

As Bill often says, Liam works hard to be a companion dog.

He does well in that category  as we work on our projects.

That's good cuz he takes time out from his herding duties to keep an eye on us.

To my Bill of 46 years today, a lovely reminder from Billy, the Irishman, of times spent in the "homeland."

This is called a "Milk Run in Connemara."

May it be soon that we are able to return to this magical country.

For now, "Happy Anniversary" at the Lovestead.

"Words matter," I've heard a time or two.

And, when strung together well with a positive, uplifting message, words can have great  and lasting impact.

Below is an example. Yesterday, I heard a snippet from this Commencement speech by Apple CEO Tim Cook and had to hear more.

I hope you enjoy the message as much as I did.

A lovely speech in Covid times.

Also, in the "words matter" category, I heard this song for the first time yesterday.  It stopped me in my tracks as it was playing on the barn radio.

I immediately looked it up, sent it to Annie, suggesting it is a good message for these times OR any time, for that matter.

Some simple reminders about living each day.

Happy Monday.
