Gotta enjoy the calm, cool and wet morning on this Monday.
It won't last long, and by the end of the week, we'll be back close to the 90s.
Fields and forests could use the moisture, but not much is hitting the ground. Still, I put on a hat to go outside and lead the horses to pasture.
I think the hoses will still get their usual use today.
This morning marks the official contractual start for educators here in Lake Pend Oreille School District.
They'll be back for pre-school meetings, Pandemic indoctrination for classroom instruction and fine tuning lesson plans for teaching the children.
My former colleague and friend Lisa Barton, an SHS speech teacher, posted an iconic photo (above) symbolizing the times.
Nice to see the nostalgia of the clothesline and clothes pins mixed with the necessity of masks for staff and students as they begin a new unpredictable school year.
There's a hint of whimsy as those masks dangle in the breeze even though many of us know their addition to the school-house wardrobe is very serious business.
We sincerely pray that cooperation reigns supreme as school gets underway and that all goes well for all students and staff.
Fresh, juicy tomatoes are making their debut for this 2020 garden year.
Some aspects of my garden have been mediocre, but the tomato crop looks like one of the best I've ever raised.
Some are huge, and I already know from cutting into another tomato, the taste is supreme.
Nice to have some garden success.

Finally, today, you'll see some information at the bottom of this post about voting in Idaho.
After seeing that Debbie, my daughter-in-law, posted it in Twitter, I decided to check up on myself.
By golly, last February I DID ask for an absentee ballot to be sent to me for November's General Election. I wasn't sure, but this site knows us and what we've done officially in order to vote.
Once there, you can click on your status and find four links which will lead you to information about the following:
Your voting record and what you have requested for this year.
Registration as a new voter or updated registration.
Request an absentee ballot.
Your polling place.
With a little more than 60 days until the Nov. 3 election, you can be ready for whatever method you choose to do your voting.
One final suggestion: if you vote absentee and are not so sure of the mail efficiency, do your voting and take it directly to the county Election office.
So, take advantage. All very simple with this link.
Happy Monday.
