Saturday Slight

It's another Saturday with some of the family troops  headed to the mountains.

Today they'll be standing on the tops of three peaks near Bonners Ferry where Bill and Willie hiked a few years back and planted some geocaches.

These ol' creaky legs and recently healed hips have chosen to stay home this time.

The relative solitude on this Saturday should provide some time for me to catch up on some projects I don't normally do when peeps are around, e.g., setting up some interviews for an upcoming assignment.

Plus, my muscles and my mind won't be missing the masochistic urge to climb yet another mountain.

I think I learned my lesson last weekend that some of my weary body parts just aren't up to the said goal, at least so soon.

Speaking of being up to the goal, we had a team of movers come to the house yesterday who made moving a couple of refrigerators look downright easy.

Thanks to movers James and Casey, our new Whirlpool is now keeping the goodies inside cold.

Hopefully, this will be the last of our appliance repairs or replacements for a while.

In the past year, we've added a new microwave, the annual new Mr. Coffee, a kitchen range and the frig.  We've also had one of the freezers repaired.  Though it's not an appliance, we also can add a new TV to the list.

Moving specialists James and Casey brought us our new Whirlpool refrigerator yesterday.

Along the lines of repairing things, last night we went on a tour of Willie and Debbie's house after Friday night dinner.

After several weeks of removing fire-damaged portions of the home, the restoration crew is now rebuilding the north end of the house.

This week saw some dramatic change when the crew installed brand new trusses.

With luck, in a couple of months, the Young Love's will be back in their home where Willie says they are hoping to host Thanksgiving dinner.

With more luck, maybe we'll all be able to celebrate INSIDE the house, together with a great spirit of collective thanks.

Til then, we continue, like everyone else, soldiering on, trying to make the best of bad times.

For starters, it's a pretty day out there and time to start those other projects.

Happy Saturday.
