Beautiful Hope

It was both amazing and nice to feel a tiny bit cold this morning when I took the horses to pasture.

That won't last long, although today and tomorrow are supposed to give us a slight break in the heat, with temps expected in the high 80s.

Although we have not had triple digits for a few days and have acclimated somewhat to the heat, yesterday was still pretty hot and miserable.

Once again, air conditioning in the car provided a break.

This time, an evening trip to nearby Hope not only felt refreshing but also offered some colorful and stunning highlights of summer.

Any time of the year, the area around Hope is beautiful, but on a hot summer night, a leisurely drive up the high road above HWY 200 keeps the eyes wide open and engaged with the natural beauty, along with theme-oriented, artistic additions to mailboxes and homes.

And, if you can take your eyes off from the colorful flora and fauna along the hillsides, there's always the magnificence of Lake Pend Oreille.

People who reside in Hope are lucky to have such views every day.

It's just a downright lovely community along the northern shore of Lake Pend Oreille.

In other news, I've suddenly encountered some new twists in putting this blog together.

Let's just say I haven't figured out the kinks yet, and so far, it's been definitely time consuming.

We're at the mercy of the Internet and tech gods, and sometimes they throw us a curve which requires some study and a whole lot of trial and error.

Posting the photos for today's edition involved a rather circuitous route, and that's putting it mildly.

So, just a heads up, that the amount of photography you usually see may not be so abundant in future posts.

I'll be working at these new challenges in hopes of mastering the learning curve, but no promises.

I've been fortunate all these years of blogging to be able do so with relative ease, but the slight detours of technology can sometimes turn complicated especially for an old brain.

Thanks for your patience. It's always a joy sharing these daily moments.

Happy Wednesday.
