Bill and I are Covid free and free to return to the United States.
We received our official certificates, indicating negative results, late yesterday after being tested yesterday by an aspiring nurse called Jonathan.
When our cell phones sounded off with text message alerts, we wasted no time clicking a link indicating the results.
To say we were relieved was an understatement. Our extreme care and caution throughout this two weeks in Ireland gave us confidence but still---one never knows.
We found that the test administration was really no big deal, and that was reassuring also.
While awaiting test results, we spent the day in and around Kenmare where we stayed the night at a charming bed and breakfast called Silken Thomas.

Our travels took us to the Irish National Stud and the Curragh, a local Thoroughbred track.

Both are amazingly beautiful, meticulously groomed facilities.

Bill and I visited both places in 2019. We were no less impressed this trip and even more thrilled to learn that the huge, open expanse of land surrounding the Curragh track is open to the public for walking after 1:30 each day.
One could walk for hours on roadways or through lush green grass.
While walking, we got some close-up views of cross country jumps, and we met Mos, a beautiful red-and-white Border Collie and her owner Charlie.
She's a trained working dog and, like most Border Collies, a lover. Like most Border Collie owners, Charlie, an area farmer, LOVES his dogs---all 13 (ten Border Collies and three Jack Russells).
We spent about half an hour swapping our Border Collie love stories and finally said good bye to our new friends.
What a great day it was, especially with the good news about the Covid tests at the end.
We'll take in as much more of Ireland as possible today before staying at an airport hotel tonight and preparing for a LONG day on the LONG journey home.
At the end of the day, we'll be thrilled to walk into the house and re-introduce ourselves to Foster and Liam and reconnect with home.
Enjoy the photos.
Happy Wednesday.
