Oh, so glorious.
Bill and I agreed that the afternoon yesterday was as nice as could be.
He told me that he took time out from work in town and went on a walk to enjoy the lovely November weather.
I worked and worked here at the Lovestead with joy, especially digging up dirt and planting about 40 bulbs---hyacinths and daffodils at the sign posts near the road.
They'll add to others planted over other years, along with beautiful iris for later in the spring.
I have about 60 more daffodil bulbs to stick in the ground and should be able to finish the task because the ground is not yet frozen.
If I have to dig through snow, I'll do it, because bulbs in the ground provide promise of pretty times to come in the spring.
Most of my yard work has been completed, down to the stage of small projects for when time and weather allow.
Twas a day of frolic for the horses in Pasture No. 1. It's nice to have them grazing closer to the house area so I can enjoy their antics in the field.
And, this morning, Nov. 9, marks the official beginning of snow in North Idaho. It began just before 6 a.m., and it's still falling.
I don't mind the stuff if it doesn't get deep enough for shoveling. I'm hoping that's the case today because the country deejays said this morning that the temperature may go up to 50 today.
In other news about stuff heating up, we have two candidates running for governor of Idaho. As with everything in this country of ours, there's the good, the bad and the ugly.
The declared candidates include a county commissioner (he's the anti-mask mandate, cowboy-hat wearing guy), and our Sandpoint mayor who just announced yesterday in his hometown of Lewiston.
Why he didn't announce in Sandpoint where he's mayor is anyone's guess, but I'm sure there are some good guesses out there.
The good part is that if one of them wins, there will be a position up for election. That bad part is who might take said position.
And, the ugly?
Well, show me any aspect of politics that isn't ugly these days.
Sorry to be so jaded. Maybe the Pandemic has done it to me.
Where are the Shawn Keough's and Jim Stoicheffs of the good ol' moderate, common-sense days when we need them?
Oh, one bit of good political news: my friend and a whole lot of other folks' friend George handily won in the Dover mayor's race last week.
Yay, George!
On that note, it's time for me to shut up.
Happy Tuesday. Be safe while driving and be sure to tune in to watch the ZAGS official season opener tonight.
Now, THERE'S some great news!
