Twas an "oh happy day" filled with endorphins for many folks around here yesterday.

Sun shining on melting snow and warm springlike air invited people outside to feel a sense of exhilaration while enjoying the conditions.

Students were happily enjoying recess out in the farm field in the snow and the sun at Selle Valley Carden School.

After arriving home from shooting a story-assignment photo, I took my camera, walked down the road and spent some time at the Meserve Preserve.

As I came from their driveway, I saw three ladies walking my way.

Turns out one is a neighbor, one was her sister from Heron and the other was their common friend whom they knew in Pennsylvania before moving to the West.

We all have those longtime friendships where conversation takes up where it left off.

The friend from Pennsylvania flew out for a visit, and the trio was making the most of their longtime friendship on a lovely February afternoon.

The good news around here is that yesterday served as a sample for even better snow melting days ahead.

We'll reach almost 50 this weekend, have a rain break and then more lovely days next week.

It will be so good to see the snow diminish, but the best days will be when we can walk on dry ground without Yak Trax.

This past week or so, Annie has visited friends in Minneapolis where it was cold and wintry, accompanied Groundspeak lackeys to San Diego and Mexico where it was sunny and warmer and went with friends to Alaska where it's what we'd all expect from Alaska, lots of snow.

Yesterday, she and her geocaching friends took a road trip from Anchorage to Whittier.  Below are couple of neat sights they saw along with oodles of snowy, big mountains.

From my afternoon walk . . . .

Four more days after today.

Bridie is certainly ready to spend some time romping in the run with Liam, but the calendar says no.

BIG GAME DAY!!

Gonzaga plays Saint Mary's tonight in the Kennel.

This is always a rivalry, and Saint Mary's is hungry for a victory after a stinging loss.

Tip off is at 7 p.m. PST

Televised on ESPN2

GO, ZAGS!!!
