I spent most of the day yesterday mowing our lawn.
This morning I couldn't be happier to have finished the job.
More rain.
This time it's soft, warm but constant.
The nice part: I won't have to drag hoses around to water the flowers and garden stuff today.
The not nice part: I put out my painting pants so I could paint some more fence today.
That won't be happening.
Also, wet-dog days.
The grass should grow, though.
Great for the pastures; not for the lawn cuz I'll probably be mowing again sooner rather than later.
Once again, the overcast skies and wetness combines to create some soft and lovely rural scenes around the neighborhoods.
It's a quiet Friday here at the Lovestead with worms doing their morning stretches across the lane and driveway.
Mr. and Mrs. Swallow were perched on the board fence near their 7B house when I took Bridie out for her first walk.
Later, when I took the horses down the lane, the love birds had disappeared, probably inside their home and out of the rain.
Basically, it's been one of those mornings when the lawn is all groomed and pretty, when there is a sense of calm, thanks to the rain and when I do my usual pinching of self, filled with gratitude for the opportunity to live here on our pretty little farm.
All around are reminders of what makes us so love this existence (in the spring, summer and fall anyway).
Neat piles of wood in Bill's forest, an array of funky color all around the yard, flowers taking off with their season of blooming and apple trees loaded with pink blossoms and no sign of an upcoming frost.
Lots of reasons for joy and satisfaction, along with lots of scenes where much more can be done to enhance the place even more.
As I reflect here in Selle Valley, Idaho, our daughter Annie Love is off thousands of miles away, enjoying a geocaching mega event:
The Viking event will be arranged for the 6th time, and this time
we have the pleasure to welcome you to this event north of the Arctic
Circle.
This will be the worlds northern most megaevent!
The event will take place at historical Viking ground at Trondenes, in Harstad.
We
will here be able to walk in the foot paths of great Vikings such as
Tore Hund and Asbjørn Selsbane.
The area around Harstads own geocaching
society, HåloGeo, is hosting the event.

It's great seeing Annie back doing what she loves best, traveling the world and promoting the sport of geocaching.
My sisters are also off doing what they love best, competing at a horse show.
This time they're in Moses Lake for the Eastern Washington Arabian Horse Show.
Hope they're missing the rain.
Meanwhile, the old Love's and Young Love's are hanging around for the holiday weekend.
After all, we've got some good times ahead with our own traveling next month.
Anyway, some Annie pictures from Norway can be seen below. Hope you enjoy.
Happy Friday.
