We spent a large portion of our Tuesday in the car yesterday.
Our route from Kenmare to Clifden took us through Killarney National Park, Muckross House estate and abbey (once the home of Queen Victoria), Adare and Galway.
The stop at Muckross House included a carriage ride with Sean O'Donovan, also a local farmer and owner of Border Collies. Betcha can't guess what we talked about besides the history of the massive and beautiful estate near Killarney.
We also spent some time in the visitor center catching up with our friend Cass whom I met when Annie and I rode horses along the beach on our first trip here in 2012.
Readers may remember yesterday's post by Cass about ordering cupcakes for us to be delivered at the concert in Stoneyford Saturday night.
Arriving in one of our favorite Irish towns of Clifden, we enjoyed a warm reunion with John and Sue, owners of the Sharamore House Bed and Breakfast where we stay on every visit.
John and Sue are very good to us, fondly calling us "the kids." So when the kids brought their own kids for this visit, it was pretty neat.
We'll have breakfast here--always magnificent with Sue's homemade pancakes, bacon, etc. and then head off for the ferry bound for Inis Mor where we'll spend the night.
Heads up: it will be two days before I post again because I'm positive that wi-fi capabilities for my blogging will be minimal at best. So, I'll catch up with photos and anecdotes when we get back to the big island of Ireland.
Should be a fun experience, and we're hoping that Mother Nature will be nice to us and hold off on the rain.
Happy Wednesday, unless you in the Pacific Time Zone are staying up late and still enjoying your Tuesday!
Enjoy the photos.
