A Time to Decorate

I asked Bill to bring home a poinsettia when he comes home from church later today.

"It's decorating day," I said.

We don't know where we'll find one, but hopefully, decorating day will also include a tree.

Slowly but surely, all the parts of the annual Christmas package of nostalgia, sharing, loving, giving and reflecting are coming together.

As always, every day through next Sunday, there will be more to come as each day unfolds, including the beloved people with whom we celebrate as well as the traditions we cherish.

Thankfully, in the midst of what seems to be a mean, ugly, sad and disturbing world, we can always find goodness and so much beauty wrapped in a variety of inanimate and living, breathing packages.

Yes, our world is far from perfect, but if we take time (Christmas music helps!) to think about all the ingredients that make up each of our days--not just what we hear on the news--we can truly rejoice at the gifts we receive and those that we give today and every day.

That said, it's time to start pulling out bags of ornaments, lights and garland and add some beauty to this day.

Bill just announced from downstairs that he's headed off to find a Christmas tree.

Happy Sunday.

Enjoy the photos and the music.
