Snowy Countryside; TBT

Another day of winter and preparing for Christmas.

Yesterday I incorporated Christmas music into my day while writing notes in Christmas cards.

It's amazing what traditional Christmas music does for the inner soul and for the emotions.

For me, it's almost as if a switch turns on the second the music starts, propelling me into a comforting world of nostalgia filled with treasured times and people of the past.

I love those moments and sometimes wish I could hold on to them all year long.

But if that were the case, they may not be so meaningful and beautiful.

Anywho, the music helps me get in the mood to write those notes to family and friends.

This morning, I saw a link for free Covid tests, so I thought I'd post it. With the likelihood of catching the "ugh bugs" heightening over the next few weeks, having the tests could be helpful.

Covid Test Kits

Took me about ten seconds to order.

They're free.

You'll receive four tests.

Thursday Throwbacks:  Once again, while scrolling through my photo library, I've found photos of fun peeps and good times, as far back as 15 years ago.

Enjoy!

In 2007, the Camp family of Bob, Carol, Kara, Kelsi, Becca and Johanna organized a birthday party for their lovely home in north Sandpoint when it turned 100 years old.

The event attracted family, friends and community members, and folks had fun while touring the stately home.

That's Jennifer Bair Wood and Becca Camp enjoying a photo op in one of the bedrooms.

I think it's time for another birthday party.

Below:  the good ol' days of our Lodgepole Society inductions.

In this case, the new inductee was former student and family friend Sarah Aavedal who has lived in Alaska for a number of years.

Below:  former student Kris Addison Owens.  I enjoyed a nice visit with Kris and her husband Rex in the Yoke's parking lot earlier this week.

Kris's mom Andrea Venishnick was a classmate and dear friend.

We miss her.

I recognize one of the students in this picture as an involved teacher at Sandpoint High.

If I remember correctly, this was the International Club at SHS.

The triplets, Jacob, Grace and Iusitana and their dad Sefo.

Their mom Laura posted a photo earlier this week with them and their longtime sidekick all together in one house.

A rare occasion these days as they're now in their 20s

On the left, Sarge, one of our favorite local veterans.

Our friend Mow aka Jean when she came up from sunny Palm Springs to snowy North Idaho  to get her pup Webster.

Longtime friend Erica and a lady I'll always know as "Mrs. Becker."

She was a student in my English class when I student taught, as was her daughter.

The babies, Lefty and Dusty, were a few months old, while Lily was just over 2 when they were all shown at halter at the Bonner County Fair horse show.

Remember when we still had a fair horse show?

Twould be nice to revive that longtime tradition.

Below:  a fun moment at Mesa Falls in Southern Idaho.  I had been down in Rexburg for a book event.

My host thought I needed to see the falls, so that's what we did.
