These Little Piggies; TBT's

I don't have as many brand new pansies as my friend and neighbor Tricia has piglets, but I'm catching up.

Four pansies so far to Tricia's dozen piglets.

Watching the little babes tear into dinner from Mom in the cushy bedding brought one of the bright spots to an otherwise pretty dreary day yesterday.

The little ones were born last week, and Mom seems quite proud of her babies.

It's always fun to visit Tricia's farm on Selle Road because animals abound.

Yesterday the talking, squawking goose and its quacking friends stuck with us as we entered the barn and strolled around the place.

Meanwhile, the resident goat kept watch on us from her box stall.

As did Zeussa, the animal protector, which Tricia says spends more time in the comforts of the house than she does watching after the animals.

She's quite a pleasant companion.

Twas a fun visit.

What's for dinner?????

Well, here's a colorful concoction that ought to spice up your January.

Looks like a pretty easy recipe.

After posting this picture on Facebook, April May asks, "Pot luck, anybody??"

Tara Albert pleads, "April May, just please don't try to make us this!"

April May replies, "I can change out the olives to black ones!"

Sounds reasonable.

Thursday Throwbacks . . . .

Laurie and Omar back in her 4-H days.

One of the first pictures I ever took of Bill after he moved to Idaho from Louisiana.

We went up Grouse Creek where he marveled at the size of the cedar stumps.

Sister Barbara and her mare April.

My mother always looked pretty diminutive next to big critters.  Actually she was pretty diminutive next to all of us kids too.  Must be we're big critters.

Don't ask me why I put this display together, except maybe ZAGNUTS had come upon the scene.

Remember when we used to have a spectacular Draft Horse and Mule show in Sandpoint?

Kinda miss those days.

Horse friends Angela and her daughter Janae on a trail ride.

A couple of gals enjoying a fun moment at a Selle Club meeting next door at the Meserve Preserve:  the late Nita Schoonover and Geneva Meserve.

In Debbie's former life, she served as a regional Girl Scout representative, both in Southern Idaho and the Inland Northwest.

Above and below, the serious business of organizing the annual Women of Wisdom gala.

These young lads, Walker and Shawn, are now young adults.  Pretty cute kids.

Janice models her new geocaching hat.  Besides running an amazing guest ranch, Roley and Janice have done their share of geocaching in the area and on their travels.

Brother and Sister Love ready for the show.

"Coach" Love in a former life, riding Tonka while his little sis Annie road Sassy.

My friend, former colleague and fellow horselover, Myra Lewis.

There has been snow in Ireland the past two days.  The white stuff has created some magical scenes in the country usually known for its green.

One such place:  the Dark Hedges of Northern Ireland.

In the picture above, Willie, Debbie and Laura walk the pathway in early July, while below, the place is just as enchanting with a dusting of snow.
