A Beautiful Bulldog Day

Today, Sandpoint High Bulldogs begin their quest to win a trophy in Division 4A at the 2023 Idaho Girls Basketball Championships.

Their ultimate goal:  a State Championship.

Information on following the game from Coach Will Love:

Video of the games will be streamed on the NFHS Network.  I think it's $10.99 for a month's subscription.

An audio stream of the game is available on IdahoSports.com.  That should be free.

[For local listeners] Bob Witte will probably be doing a broadcast of the game on KSPT-1400  Not sure of that.

The Bulldogs take on Minico in the first round, today at 1 p.m. PST.

Hope you can listen or watch.

GO, BULLDOGS!!!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Frozen-over small murals of ice art over driveway mud puddles will soon melt away as the sun heats up.

Right now, walking outside is nice, even with the ice.

By afternoon, the melt will transform into a soupy mud surface in the driveway.

I discovered that phenomenon yesterday when I walked out to get the mail, cleaned off my shoes in the snow and later found bits of caked, white mud on the carpet where my feet had been resting.

Even with the mud and petrified snow blankets and piles, this February Thursday should continue to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Spirits are high around this household because the Girls State Basketball Tournament starts in the Boise area this afternoon.

Bill and I will listen to and maybe even watch Willie's first game at 1.  Then, Bill will take off for Spokane where he'll watch the Lady ZAGS play in the Kennel.

We all have to stay up late tonight because the men's game against Loyola Marymount won't tip-off until 8 p.m. on CBS Sports, Channel 158.

Let's hope the ZAGS return the favor of a home-court loss to the Lions.  It seems appropriate since we have to stay up late to watch the game.

Once again, we learned that this year's college basketball offers open opportunities to many teams.

Alabama, which the ZAGS defeated earlier this year, sat in the No. 1 ranking for all of two days before Tennessee, which beat the ZAGS in an exhibition game earlier this year, defeated Alabama.

It's a toss-up on any given day, even today.

Who knows how any of today's Bulldog games will end?

For now, we're enjoying the excitement of a big Bulldog Day here in the beautiful neighborhood.

We hope to be cheering and thrilled when each of the three final buzzers for Bulldogs sound off with wins.

GO, BULLDOGS in Boise, Spokane and Los Angeles.

Happy Thursday.
