It was Lincoln and Levi's second visit to meet the horses.
For little brother Wade, it was his first.
Lincoln and Levi are now 4, while Wade is five months old.
Mom Heather brought the boys up from their home in California to spend a week with Grandma Leslie and Grandpa Steve who live next door to us.
As for my three horses, they love when company comes cuz sometimes company brings treats.
Yesterday's visitors brought a bag of carrots.
Sadly, poor Lefty, who's lowest on the food chain among the three, stood back, avoiding any potential wrath from Lily.
He also had a sad look on his face. So, when Lily and CB weren't looking, I sneaked a handful of grain to Lefty.
When carrots were gone, it was time to go to the barn where the little guys got to see a couple of cats cuddled together in the hay stack.
Then, down the aisle to the back hay bay where kids could climb up on the bales and enjoy a little frolicking as well as photo shoots with Mom and Grandma.
The only disappointment for Lincoln and Levi might be the lack of full-fledged mud puddles, which two years ago kept their interest so much so that Lincoln plopped right in the middle of a nice big puddle.
Maybe next time.
Twas a nice visit, as always.
Below, meet Gobbie.
I guess when ya finally give them a name, they're part of the family.
Since "Mooch" was already taken for the cat that showed up for daily dining in the barn, I have named our lone turkey Gobbie.
We think she's a girl. Maybe we'll find out later for sure.
For now, Gobbie doesn't really bother stuff too much, but she does mooch her share of food around the bird feeders.
She also knows when it's time to do the famous turkey trot back to the woods. That's usually when we turn the dogs out.
Bill figures that one morning when all her turkey friends woke up in the trees and took off, Gobbie was still sound asleep on her limb.
So, over the winter, the beloveds population has increased by two IF ya don't count all the chickadee regulars.
As long as Gobbie doesn't make a mess or bring any friends, she is welcome.
And, that's all, except for the video below.
Powerful and poignant "Song of the Year."
Happy Tuesday.
