Twas a day filled with cats, horses, flowers, dogs, farriers, food and a whole lot of fun.
While cats hung around and soaked up the sun, Steve and Dave teamed up (well oiled in fact) to trim and shoe the Lovestead herd.
In between nail poundings and hoof trims, story swapping added a fun touch to the scene. Plus, the horses all seemed to enjoy their equine pedicures.
Thanks, Steve and Dave.
We had been invited to dinner at Karren and Lenny's house, so after the shoeing session, I took a trip to town to pick up some items to contribute to the evening menu.
That trip also involved a stop at the Flower Farm to select some color for the flower planters. I didn't go overboard, though I could have with all the beautiful floral possibilities John and Pam and their team have nurtured for this spring season.
This morning our deck area looks a bit brighter, and the new flowers survived the night.
Our dinner invitation involved three former students (one also a son), a daughter-in-law, a hubby and myself.
So, four Love's all together in a beautiful home where a reminder of the importance of kindness, friendship and love tops off pretty much every room.
We met the dogs, Smudge and Timber and the adorable cat with a coat that comes and goes.
We reminisced about the good ol' days at Sandpoint High School, we shared our personal stories, we acted a silly at times, we ate well and we all enjoyed each other.
Karren's generosity with her friends shined with parting gifts for each of us: creative arrangements of socks, gleaned from her friend, the "Sock Broker."
AND🍔🍔🍔, Lenny's hamburgers were grilled just right.
A fun and memorable evening.
Thanks so much, Karren and Lenny.
