Odds and Ends on a Tuesday.

First, a dish towel.

Then, a pair of Bill's socks.

Finally, one of Bill's shirts.

Bridie is back to her snatching activities again.

This generally occurs in the morning after she comes in from chores.

And, she's lightning fast at snatching and dropping.

Seldom do we see the process, but we always see the results, most often at the sliding-glass door.

Bridie had to multi-task this morning because an instant after she had brought Bill's socks to her spot, she had to drop and bark.

A deer was walking through the front pasture.

There is a reason Bridie's crate still sits in the living room. Even at 2-plus, she is not exactly trustworthy in the house.

Some mornings she prefers to sneak up the stairs to the second-floor bathroom, knock over the wastebasket and scatter wads of toilet paper while selecting a choice wad to work on downstairs.

This morning, however, involved three different missions, and the day is young.

In other news, Bill is preparing for the Geezer Forum.

In today's case, it will be a Geezer talking to other geezers about all the activities at Pine Street Woods.

Could be that one member of his audience may not yet qualify as a geezer.  That would be our daughter-in-law Debbie who's anxious to hear Bill's talk.

More about his presentation in the link below.

Also, it's fun to see that one of the "outlaws" is visiting the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland today.  Sig and her hubby Bob are on a tour which also includes a couple of gals who worked at Farmin School.

Soon we'll be following some of their trails.

Can't wait but must!

Happy Tuesday.  Enjoy the photos, and check out Jim Woodward's announcement below.

Our apples are pretty this year but growing on just one segment of the tree.

Plus, every single one has a worm hole.

The horses are happy cuz that means lots of treats for them---when they're not eating the fence, that is.

I'm proud to include this announcement today.

Jim Woodward will get my vote AGAIN.

Jim Woodward, business owner, retired Navy submariner, civic leader and lifelong Idahoan, announced today he is entering the 2024 Republican primary election for the Legislative District 1 senate seat.

He is entering the race because Scott Herndon, the first-term incumbent, "reflects neither real Idaho values nor embraces principles held dear by a majority of North Idahoans."

“It’s clear Herndon believes our North Idaho values are wrong.  They are not. He, and the out-of-state groups that fund and pull his strings, are the outliers.”

Woodward, 52, was raised in Bonner and Boundary Counties and graduated with an engineering degree from the University of Idaho.  Jim served a total of twenty-one years in the U.S. Navy, on active and reserve duty, retiring as a Commander.

His Idaho roots run deep, which brought him back to North Idaho where he owns and operates an excavation and marine construction business.  Jim and his wife Brenda, a teacher and regular part of the Sandpoint Farmer's Market for more than two decades, have been married 29 years and have two children.

Woodward said he is vested in Idaho and our nation. "I spent years of my life underwater, in defense of the entire population of the United States, on a submarine ready to fight an actual war.  Herndon’s culture wars are based on his personal interests.  I focus on a broader picture using real Idaho values which benefit the majority.”

A Republican since registering to vote upon graduating from Bonners Ferry High School, Woodward served two terms in the State Senate from 2018 to 2022 representing District 1.

As a two-term Senator, Woodward acknowledges he lost his bid for another term by not aggressively challenging the half-truths and deceptive campaign advertising that deluged mailboxes.

"I did not anticipate the aggressive and deceitful messaging, directed and well-funded by national groups, intent on using Idaho as a laboratory experiment for their dangerous political agenda.”

“That changes with this announcement,” promised Woodward.

“The vast majority of Idahoans believe in civility, quality public education, the right to life, the right to possess firearms, and certainly in equality for women.”

“Having grown up here, I understand the value we place on our privacy and the ‘live and let live’ atmosphere we have always cultivated.  We work hard and we expect nothing less from our government.”

Civically active, Woodward is a board director on the Northern Lights Electric Co-op and represents the Co-Op at the state level as a board member of the Idaho Consumer Owned Utilities Association.

He is a Sagle Fire District Commissioner and the Sagle representative to the Selkirk Fire Agency.

Jim is also a member of the Bonner General Hospital Foundation Advisory Board, a regular volunteer in the school district, and a member of the Governor’s Leadership in Nuclear Energy Commission.
