Images of 2024, Part One

It's the penultimate day of the year 2024 and a good time to start looking back at the year in pictures.

As with any year, Charles Dickens famous quote fits for 2024.

It was the best of years; it was the worst.

The superlatives for each extreme can fit into a variety of happenings.

Losing 25 years of your life work in pictures and writings when a hard drive fails does not make for a banner day.

Fortunately, that story had a good but expensive ending.

When your children put together a lovely party to celebrate 50 years of marriage for you and your spouse, that's pretty nice and meaningful.

So, the extremes were there in 2024, just like they are in any month, on any day or during any year.

Regardless of the extremes of life, we soldier on to see what's on the next page, and that's exactly what we did in 2024.

More than likely, that's what we'll do again in 2025.

Regardless of many extremes this past year, pictures of special moments of family, friendship, joy and even the mundane moments of life are as fun to review as they have been any other year.

Today's batch represents some of my favorites from the first few months of 2024, while tomorrow's will finish up the year.

Hope you enjoy.

There's a new pet urgent care in town, and this lady owns and manages it.

Whenever there's a State girls basketball tournament in Southern Idaho, Cathy, on the right, is there to welcome the teams.

She once played basketball for Sandpoint High.

It was a soup-bowl fundraiser for the food bank, and my fun friends Ann and Becky came.
