Saturday Slight

While we were having our morning snow storm yesterday,  the Scotch pine in our front yard looked especially beautiful.

Snow soon turned to rain.

Some of that turned to ice.

This morning the combination is making for some dicey walking outside.  It was definitely a Yak Trax morning.

Hopefully, the warmer temperatures will melt the ice, and walking will be easier.

Anyway, the ground, which was getting pretty blah looking, has been dressed with a new coat of white.

It's St. Brigid's Day in Ireland.

You can learn more about Brigid in the link below.

Above:  a classy example of a St. Brigid's Cross.

Below: a more traditional version. School children and groups all over Ireland use rushes from the wetland to weave the crosses which can be found pretty much everywhere on the island.

It turned out that Lefty, not CB had the scrapes around his eye yesterday.

In the photo Roxane sent me, it looked like CB.  Both have pretty heads and white hair near their eyes.

Anyway, Lefty seems to be doing okay.

Below:  on a snowy then rainy day, Mr. Foster knows where to hang out.

He's definitely a fair-weather dog.

Bill and I spent some time plowing yesterday.  He opened up the driveway and the lane while I plowed a new walking path around the hay field.

Joey and Jada "cleaned up good" for their magazine cover photo.

Joey's the plumber and Jada is his assistant. She's also going to school to earn her plumbing credentials.

We're thrilled to see our favorite plumbing crew gracing the cover of GO Sandpoint, which is available at news stands around town or you can read the story on line at the link below.

Game Day

It's a big one, too.

🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀

The Gonzaga Bulldogs will take on the WCC top-ranked St. Mary's Gaels tonight.

If ever there is a perennial a rivalry, it's this one.

Should be a great game.

Tip-off at 8 p.m.

Watch on ESPN.

GO, ZAGS !!!!

Leading up to the game, I hope you enjoy your day.

Happy Saturday.

Since it's an Irish saint's day, I'll leave you with one of my favorite Irish songs.

It's about the town of Derry in Northern Ireland, but the general message can fit any town that anyone loves so well, including Sandpoint.

Yes, Sandpoint and its wonderful past is still the town I love so well.

Enjoy.
