Top o' the Mornin' to Ya!

This robin was out looking for worms in the snow yesterday.  I don't think the robins expected to have to shovel on March 16 to get their worms.

I also did not expect to have such a difficult time walking on March 17.

Actually, I didn't see any robins shoveling yesterday, and I'm guess that if they missed out on a helping or two of worms yesterday, they'll be okay.

As far as the walking is concerned, it was really tough going today, except for on the road, which looked icy but wasn't bad.

Anyway, we move on today with hopes that we've seen the last of the snow.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY.

Hope all the Irish and all those who want to be Irish have a fun day.

I can claim to be at least half Irish, with ancestors coming from County Donegal, County Mayo, County Clare and County Kerry.

At least, that's what I've been told from those family members who know the ancestry.

I can remember that after the first time I visited Ireland with Annie,  I came home and told Bill that I now knew why I act like I do.

The Irish people are very engaging and they like to talk----two observations among many.

It's a nice heritage, and they are wonderful people.

Along with St. Patrick's Day, we have now entered another annual period which has become a perennial favorite among millions of Americans.

Heck, they probably even forget about divisive politics for a while when March Madness begins.

As always, we watched "Selection Sunday" yesterday after two days of couch slouching and basketball overload.

It looks like my hunch that the ZAGS may go to the Elite Eight includes a couple of major challenges, called Georgia and Houston.

Anything is possible, though, during March Madness, and with the ZAGS playing their best basketball all year, maybe my hunch will work out.

If it does, the rest of the road for the ZAGS could become easier.

So, we just have to speculate and hope for the best when the ZAGS take on Georgia this Thursday.  The one fact that we already know for sure:  Bulldogs will win.

In the meantime, between now and Thursday, we need to fill out our NCAA brackets.  If you've never done this before and would like to give it a try, go to CBS Sports or ESPN Fantasy games.

I'm pretty sure they make it as easy as possible for you to find a bracket or two.

I often fill out three or four for one of my pools and a couple for the other.

The bracket challenge, which is free 'cept for if you want to do some betting,  makes March Madness all the more fun, and it doesn't matter if you know basketball.

A certain amount of bracket success is luck, and in the past, I've seen non-experts win the pool.

Fun times ahead, with the real fun starting Thursday when, for four days, we can enjoy four days of basketball overload.

GO, ZAGS!
