Ireland 2025, Day Nine: National Stud, Curragh

There's the magnificent Irish National Stud.

There's the Curragh racetrack set in the vast Curragh plain.

There are the beautiful Japanese Gardens at the National Stud.

There's St. Brigid's Cathedral and so much more beauty around Kildare.

After saying good bye to the kids, who are home safely now, Bill and I spent the day enjoying glorious sunshine and the many lovely aspects of Kildare Town, south of Dublin.

Among those, a lovely stay at Silken Thomas lodge, pub and restaurant in the heart of Kildare, which we discovered a few trips back.

And, with Silken Thomas come Beata, Sean and Caroline, among many staff members whose efficiency and friendliness make coming back time after time an easy decision.

Once more we're staying in the beautiful Virginia Lodge of Silken Thomas where this morning we'll be packing more efficiently in preparation for the flight back to Seattle in a few hours.

Kildare and its many features provided a wonderful last day for this amazing trip.  When virtually every day offered abundant sunshine to go along with the beauty of Ireland, you can't lose.

Our timing was perfect, and I'm hearing that back home, the sun is shining too.  I'll take it.

Enjoy the photos.

The cafeteria at the Irish National Stud provides an amazing array of fine dishes.

The Irish National Stud was buzzing with people of all ages, enjoying the gardens, the horses and the food.

How about some poetic water?

Invincible Spirit, now looking pretty good for 28, is the leading stallion at the Irish National Stud.
