Wednesday Mutterings

Twas horse-hoof time at the Lovestead yesterday.

Two front shoes reset on Lily and a trim, and two trims all the way around for CB and Lefty.

The horses all cooperated, with the exception of a few moments when Steve had to get after Lily for being slightly obstinate while he was working on one foot.

Happily, in general, all three horses are at the point where they take these sessions pretty much in their stride.

Now, they're good to go for a couple of months.

We had a little shower this morning but not enough for me to go a third day without watering.

The weeds have taken off again, thanks to the rain so there'll be weeding, more watering and maybe some mowing on the "to do" list today.

I also have three new buckets of white barn paint and will be painting whenever "all of the above" necessities slow down.

The work load this time of year is always offset by each day's new images.  This morning, for example, I was amazed at some new blooms on my rose bushes.

Always nice morning surprises to remind us of why we tend to all these garden and yard projects.

It's a good life and great time of year.

Happy Wednesday.

It's supposed to provide enhanced bird watching.

Nobody told that to the squirrels.

Helen's roses.

Bill saw a photo op and took the opportunity yesterday.

He brought home a sunflower for me, and while I was holding it and talking to me, he started instructing me on how and where to hold the sunflower, where to move my head.

These are the fun results.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
