Maria and Lars Larson, painting a new mural along Fifth Avenue on the side of Sandpoint Super Drug.
I was fortunate to see this couple at work with their paintbrushes while driving down Fifth Avenue Saturday afternoon.
Maria, who has painted other murals around the Sandpoint area, told me that she had come up with the concept and then searched around town for the perfect place to paint the mural.
After deciding that the Super Drug building seemed most appropriate, she introduced her idea to owner Scott Porter, who enthusiastically agreed.
So, Sandpoint now has a new touch of color and another visual reminder of events or happenings that have added to the colorful history of the community.
Maria is thinking about calling the mural "Sandpoint Now and Then."

Bill and I particularly like this part of the mural because we watched the first-ever Kodiak take-off and landing when we lived on our Great Northern Road farm.
Plus, Quest, now Dahar, bought our farm, enabling us to move to Selle.
Later, we also enjoyed a complimentary ride in the Kodiak.
Not a lot to say here except we'll probably be seeing countless similar images in the next few days, as we're taking off for Dublin, Ireland, this evening.
Yes, to those who keep track, we visited Ireland in the spring, but did not have the time to see all of the friends we've met over the years, so we're visiting them this fall.
Plus, Willie and Debbie will join us later in the week, and we'll proudly watch as he conducts a Halloween basketball clinic in Kenmare early next week.
Can't get enough of the Ireland, so why not go again? Plus, we'll get to see the Irish version of Halloween, where the holiday reportedly originated.
Be patient in regard to the blog.
With air travel, I'll not be following my regular blog schedule. Once we're settled, you'll start seeing posts on a fairly regular basis again.
Hope you enjoy the daily stories and photos.
Til then: top o' the morning to ya!
