I took this photo three weeks ago at the Farragut Naval Training Station Reunion. This was just a portion of the giant flag unfurled and held by veterans and their families at a stirring remembrance ceremony. More than 300,000 Navy recruits spent several months at this training base (1942-1945) on beautiful Lake Pend Oreille (in the background) before shipping off to to serve in World War II. Next year is the last such reunion.
