One of the most exquisite displays in my gardens this year has resulted from leaving last year's carrots in the ground to go to seed.

I'm learning while doing, and I never dreamed carrots could put on such an elegant show. When the blossoms dry up, I'll collect a batch of them and plant their seeds next year.

In the meantime, a portion of all future carrot crops will stay the winter in hopes of more sights like this.
