Bill said it wouldn't be quite right to let this beautiful day pass by without doing some geocaching to honor Annie's 30th birthday yesterday. So, we loaded up dogs, geocaching backpack and camera and headed off to Bonners Ferry and the Camp Nine Road.
We found treasures in the caches and treasures all around us with breath-taking scenes like this. In fact, it was scenery overload, to say the least. Mother Nature saves the best for last before we enter that period of bland landscapes during the weeks before winter.
She outdid herself this year. We had a wonderful afternoon and topped it off with a trip through the Boundary Trading Co. to pick up a few supplies before coming home for our Sunday evening "60 Minutes" and sports fix.
Speaking of sports, those ZAGS had better make up for all our disappointments this fall with 95 percent of our favorite regional sports teams: Seahawks -- yuck -- Cougars -- yuck -- Vandals, not quite as 'yuck' as the Cougs but pretty yuck.
Bill figures that possibly well-traveled coach Dennis Erickson will come back one more time from Arizona State with his tale between his legs and offer up himself to the highest bidder on the Palouse.
Let's see, if that happened, this would be the third time for the Vandals and second time for the Cougs if Dennis proclaimed that "his heart has always been in the Palouse."
Bill was happy to see his McNeese State Cowboys win and pretty thrilled that his LSU Tigers redeemed themselves after last week's ugly loss.
We are THRILLED about Boise State --- undefeated so far and ranked 13th in the polls. Go Broncos!
Mother's getting revved up for the ZAGS season. She figures it's gonna continue to be interesting here for the next several weeks cuz she can go straight from the Presidential election into ZAGS basketball. For sure, she'll be wearing her ZAGS sweatshirt and cradling her framed autograph from Coach Mark Few as she watches all the ZAGS action!
Exciting times ahead.
