Happy Easter and Remembrance

Happy Easter
and
Remembering
Harold Tibbs
April 12, 1916 -- Nov. 21, 2003
Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather,
Friend,
Lover of God's simple gifts
~~~~~~~
I know your life on earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain
Go rest high on that mountain
Son your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son
Oh, how we cried the day you left us
We gathered round your grave to grieve
Wish I could see the angels' faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing
Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son.
Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son.
Did you write the poem, Marianne?
A touching way to remember him.
I'm anxious to read how it went for you yesterday!
Sharon,
I'd love to take credit for it, and I really should have credited it as the very touching song by Vince Gill, which was played at my dad's funeral.
I heard it last night on a country show and thought it would be appropriate for today's posting.
Marianne
i attended your Memoir Writing workshop yesterday and enjoyed it very much ... the chemistry between you, Erica and the audience was a a real plus. During Mass this morning i thought about you and your mother celebrating Easter at St. Joseph's.
Reading your blog has inspired me to start one of my own.
Warm Regards,
kathy dobbs
Kathy,
Thank you so much for your comments and for the part you played in making our day so special. As I told Jenny, it took no more than five minutes to feel as if I had known everyone all my life. It was a great group, and I really enjoyed my visits with you during the day.
Let me know when you get your blog set up. potatohead89@hotmail.com
My cousins sang that song at my daddy's funeral in 2000. It has always meant a lot to me. Thanks for sharing.
