My friends Karen (Arndt) and Jerry Kruse, now retired near New Meadows, Idaho, surprised me with a visit yesterday.
Both worked their entire careers at Washington State University, retiring five years ago. To say they're "COUGS" fans would be an understatement.
Hadn't seen 'em in four years, since our last class reunion, in fact.
Karen has always been one of my cadre of dearest of friends where we can always take up from where we left off, no matter how long it's been in between visits. Those are special friends, indeed.
Karen and Jerry, of course, joined the Lodgepole Society.

Also wanted to say "Go Broncos" as they begin their season against Oregon tonight. We'll all be gathered around the tube tonight at 7:15 to watch as Boise State hosts the Oregon Ducks.
Should be a good game.
