Tuesday TwitterdeedamnrainAGAIN!

Well, the bright side is that I don't have to water my gardens and flowers.  Who said the subject of rain would not come up again for a while?

Did I say that?  Silly me.

And, silly, silly me----the one who waited until today to mow the major part of the lawn---so it would look nice for the Fourth.

I counted up this morning; we've had eight months of this waiting for a string of more than two nice days.

Well, if tomorrow's weather forecast is correct at least those new cushions I bought for the deck furniture last night should be dried out in time for the barbecue.

Bill said when I came in from my morning walk (yes, a wet morning walk), "So, this is what 80 percent chance of rain looks like."

I won't tell you what I said.

All the griping in the world isn't gonna make the rain stop, though,  so I'll do some vacuuming, dusting and other house tasks.

Then I'll put on my rain gear and those barn boots and get out there on the lawnmower and mow wet grass.

Annie's coming tonight so we can look forward to Second Avenue Pizza.

In a little while, Bill, Willie and Wille's friend Andrew are going fishing on the Coeur d'Alene River.  A little rain never stopped any of the diehard anglers I know.

Five days from now when it's 90 degrees, I'll promise to keep my mouth shut.

And, I can assure everyone of when we'll have two hot July days.  Those would be July 14-15 when I do my annual stint in the announcer's booth at the fairgrounds.

Those are almost always guaranteed to be hot.  I know it, and the bees know it.   So, mark your calendars for weekend outdoor fun.

Of course, by then they'll be talking about fire danger.

A gentleman told us the other day that 1910 was one of the wettest years on record.  That was the year that most of North Idaho burned.

Let's hope history never repeats itself in that department.

Well, guess what.  I'm nearing an end to my diatribe---is that the right word----and a pink banner keeps flashing on my blogger clipboard.

An error has occurred.  Your work cannot be saved or published.

Hmmm.  I wonder if the blogger demons will remove this post all together before I cut and paste it to another document and THEN try to publish it.

I think this is one of those "test" days.  The "gods" do everything possible to test your patience beyond the max just to see how you react to adversity.

I think another statement I made on another recent blog posting suggested that we, in this area, could win "America's Most Resilient Community"  hands down.

I don't intend to be proven wrong on that one.

Can't do anything about that faulty assumption that we were done with rain for 48 hours, as suggested yesterday, but, by golly, today's post will eventually be published.

Rain or no rain.

Have a great Tuesday.  Stay dry.

Last week, as we were getting ready to leave for a few days, the rain again kept Rick from mowing. He said there was good news and bad news. The good news was that we wouldn't have to worry about watering while we were gone. The bad news was that we would have to buy goats when we got home - the lawn would be too high to mow!
Raining again today, but hoping for sun tomorrow.
