Weekend Trivia . . . .

Took a couple of guys to hold up just a portion of the loot Laurie brought home from the Arabian Sport Horse Nationals AND that doesn't include the two huge trophies, the plaques and blanket.   Kevin is holding one of the garland and plaque for Laurie and Mani's national championship, while Bill shows off the ribbons.  Both horse and rider are home, and, yes, Laurie remains most humble and still willing to scoop up those horse apples.  In the meantime, Mani went to the pasture and soon learned that even "the king" gets no respect from his herd.

Oh, deer!  I took the garden fence down from my little manure pile patch this weekend.  Mama deer and her twins made quick use of the chard.  I'm SO glad I put a big fence around my main garden this year, cuz both the chard and the lettuce are still doing well.

Though lots of posies have died from earlier morning frosts, Barbara and Laurie's petunias are doing just fine.

Lemme outa here!  Foster occasionally gets thrown in to the lions'--er--puppy cage at the Colburn farm.  Immediately, the mauling, slobbering, playing, loving begins as Jessie and Meggie (Laurie and Barbara's red heelers) welcome their pooch pal.  Sometimes, Foster has had enough and begs for freedom, as in this moment last night.
Lefty looked kinda neat in this morning's fog.
