Thursday This and That

I suspect this scene won't be quite so colorful when I return from my trip next week.

Yesterday the sun and crisp autumn air made for some stunning scenes.

So, I went around the place with the camera.

In the dead of the winter ahead, it will be nice to scroll through such photos as a reminder of the beauty we do enjoy several months of the year.

Most of the front yard has been spared from frost so far, but I've looked at the temperatures to come, and these pansies, petunias and pumpkins may need a winter coat soon.

Annie's taking off for Denver, Colorado,  today to prepare for this weekend's "wildest geocoinfest ever---a Rocky Mountain High":  http://www.gcf2012.com/

Looks like the "Meet and Greet" tomorrow night and Saturday's day of events will include more than 400 geocachers from around the country.

Bill says I can borrow one of his geocaching hats so I can blend in with the groupies.   I told him, from the looks of all the seminars, I may be come back well educated on the subject---maybe even enough to give Loblollylove a few tips.

I've also read the guidelines on the website for avoiding altitude sickness---since Denver has 17 percent less oxygen than places at sea level.

I'm guessing a North Idahoan will experience about 9 percent less oxygen, since we're at about 2,100 feet.

Annie and I will meet up at the "Meet and Greet," provided I can follow the directions from the airport to the hotel---30-plus miles.

Bill will be keeping track of dogs, cats and horses, for which I am very thankful.

With all the excitement ahead, there are loose ends to tie up around here---meaning a busy day ahead.

I can almost hear John Denver singing . . . .
