Nuthin' Special

Just puttin' out the word to chickadees or smaller birds this morning that there's a new resting perch available at the Lovestead bird-feeder station.

My sisters gave me an early birthday present after a trip to Moose Valley Farms where Mary and her gang have THEE best gift items for gardeners.  Just go to my sister Barbara's Flickr site, and you'll see some more samplings of Moose Valley offerings.

In between the horses and the pasture scenes, you'll see how they've lit up their yard with a few of those colorful and quirky items for outdoor decor.

Plus, you'll enjoy an idea they saw at the Naples nursery and later put to use.  That would be the old wooden ladder with the posies perched on each rung.

Anywho, I've got me a pretty pink cowboy-boot bird house, and I'm just letting the world know they can send prospective tenants my way.

I'll do some interviewing and measuring, and we'll see which bird best fits the boot.

And, speaking of birds, those two crows sure have taken over the front yard.  They arrived about three weeks ago, and they've made themselves at home.

I was noticing while walking past Murray's house this morning that it could get mighty noisy out in their yard.

At least four crows were hopping around and letting off sounds that only a crow can do.  Pretty versatile with their vocal cords, if you ask me.

Just a group of pretty aspen along our road last night.  I took a short bike ride, and it turned out to be more talk than actual biking.

First, I visited with my dear friend, former student and neighbor Janice.  She's the Border Collie belly rubber up the road.  We always have good visits, especially because we love our surroundings and the neighbors so much.  We also compete with yard beautification, which this year, for some reason, has remained a pretty idle topic of conversation.

On my way back home, I had an enjoyable visit with a young couple who are counting the days, hours and minutes until their son is born.  I think today reduces the wait time to seven days.  Very nice people, and I enjoyed getting to know them a little better.

Just a sky/aspen shot.  I took a cue from my friend Janis who has taken a cue from someone else who spends a lot of time with her camera pointed upward.

Since first seeing one of Janis' sky shots, I've found myself looking upward and often happy with the sight.

Just like here on Earth, the sky is constantly changing, offering a myriad of artful combinations.

And, the change in perspective always adds to our understanding of the world around us.

That's all, folks.

Happy Friday.
