Monday Morning Weekend Memories

This past weekend was filled with meaningful and memorable events.  While traveling to Bonners Ferry, to Hope and then yesterday to the mouth of the Clark Fork River to say "good bye" to a friend I had dubbed the "mouth of the Clark Fork River," I found photo after photo of people doing what people do----inspect, smile, laugh, get bored, tell stories and even head off into the sunset.

So, the following pictorial smorgasboard pretty much reflects the weekend and the great moments I experienced with a wide array of wonderful subjects.

I love to observe "men looking at stuff."  Men looking at stuff are different from "women looking at stuff," it seems.  Women pick things up to inspect, while men look and talk.  I was thinking this morning that one could even publish a fun photo book of both genders looking over the things they might want to buy.  I also notice that men probably put their hands in their pockets more than women do while deciding if they want to buy something.  I don't know if that's to hold on to the money or to get ready to hand it over for that used battery charger.

I posted this photo, mainly for my friend Sue.  She was one of the moms of the couple.  That's Sean, the groom, and Suzanne, the bride. Bobbie, the mother of the bride is standing to the left, while Sue, the mother of the groom, is to the right.  I think both moms were pretty thrilled; after all, their families have been friends forever.

Jackie, the bride's aunt, and I'm guessing Jackie's daughter, the bride's cousin, sang a medley of lovely love songs.

My friend Kathy, at the right, stands with Laisa from Brazil who's here in Sandpoint for the school year as an exchange student.  Three exchange students from Brazil are attending Sandpoint High this year.  Meanwhile, Kathy is hosting two exchange students---one from Austria, the other, from Spain.

I liked this photo because it illustrates so well that everyone is not exactly on the same "enthusiasm" page.

A former student, Chris, and his Uncle Bob, both relatives of the groom.

Patti and Chet Howell in the foreground.  Patti had a day care at her home in Sandpoint for a number of years, and my two children spent their early formative years with Patti and the gang.  And, they turned out A-Okay.  Thanks, Patti.

Kathy grabbed my camera and snapped a photo of the Love ladies:  Marianne and her "lovely" daughter-in-law Debbie.

Sydne, on the left, attended both the wedding on Saturday and a very special farewell potluck yesterday on the Clark Fork River for our dear friend Boots Reynolds.  That's Boots' better half, Becky, who assembled a group of Boots' friends to help say good bye.

Boots' gene pool is alive and well and lookin' a heckuva lot like Boots:  his son Rusty.

Boots' most important "second" wife and best friend Bonnie Shields, the Tennesee Mule Artist,  said a few words.

As did his buddy and the "other mouth of the Clark Fork River," famous outdoor humorist Patrick F. McManus.

Not a bad place to spend eternity.  Becky, Rusty and Dave Lisaius take Boots for his last boat trip on the Clark Fork River.

We miss ya, buddy, but we'll never forget you.
