We had an informal birthday party for Debbie yesterday here at the Lovestead during the Seahawks game. Barbara and Laurie came by with a very special gift for Debbie. The photos represent a small sampling of Barbara's phenomenal photos from area powwows. I told Barbara she could retire and go into photography full time. At the very least, the images are stunning. I think Debbie liked her birthday present. For more of Barbara's Native American samples, you can visit her Flickr site at http://www.flickr.com/photos/misstshs/ |
Barbara and Laurie also brought their pups, Jessie and Meggie---ready for winter in their new sheepskin coats from Big R. I couldn't imagine there being a coat like that small enough for my Foster, but my sisters said yes. They have all sizes. Guess I'll have to check it out. We have a good coating of frost this morning so winter coats are gonna get some frequent use from now on. Another great gift that came out of Debbie's birthday party is that she spent time playing with my smart phone and finally figured out how I can get my "apps." For weeks, I've tried to change the original password, which I could not remember since I thought it up with my first smart phone two years ago. I've since learned the "write it down" rule, but that didn't do any good for that particular one. After about 20 minutes, Debbie hit paydirt. I now have a new password, written down, and the geocaching app. So, look out all you cachers out there Lovesmom is on the loose with a smart phone and an app. I'm pretty anxious to get on the move and search for some caches on my own. And, there are plans for "girl friends" to join me too. At long last, I've come into the world of techno-cacher instead of the purist who finds the caches without electronic help. We should have our final roofing finished sometime this week. Amos says the tin is supposed to come in today, but so is the snow. I hope he can get it attached before winter gets too serious. Anyway, today looks like a beauty AND at 8 a.m. my blog featuring additional information (to the print story in Sandpoint Magazine) about our locals working in North Dakota should be up and running. I've issued a disclaimer that readers may see a few gremlins in headline placement and photos, but as we all know from my past trials and tribulations, blogging is hardly a perfect science and the glitches happen. So, I'll be tweaking as I figure out what to do with the visual problems. But the reading should be fascinating. As with my Schweitzer blog, I'll keep adding as I receive additional material. So, you can find the North Dakota blog at www.bakkenforth.blogspot.com. Opens at 8 a.m. this morning if all goes well. And, for those extended Schweitzer interviews, visit www.schweitzeroriginals.blogspot.com. Finally, if you're in town, the new Sandpoint Magazine, which is loaded with fascinating stories and photos, can be found at news stands around the area. Happy Monday. |
